First-Year Assessments

Research and experience have shown that targeted courses for first-year students correlate with improving student success with the first-year experience, retention and student satisfaction.

With this in mind, EBI and experts from The Policy Center on the First Year of College, John Gardner, Betsy Barefoot and Randy Swing, have developed the First-Year Initiative Assessment and the Foundations of Excellence assessments.

Two options are available to meet your needs:

First-Year Initiative Seminar Assessment
This assessment is administered at the end of first-year courses, providing institutions with feedback regarding course outcomes.

Foundations of Excellence Student and Faculty Assessments
These surveys are designed to support the Foundations of Excellence model.
