The union visitor and non-visitor assessments provide administrators with a sense of student perceptions about their union experience. <description>Because first-generation college students have lower retention and graduation rates, this study focused on their early integration experiences. Specifically, multiple regressions were conducted to examine the predictors of social integration, academic integration, institutional satisfaction, and homesick-related distress, using Tinto’s (1993) longitudinal attrition model.</description>

<description>In this summary of data from the 2011 Fall Transition Survey, of the 119,349 first-year respondents, 5,911 indicated they intended to transfer to another institution. This research note profiles students who intend to transfer, comparing them to other students and comparing the responses of those who intended to transfer before they entered the institution and those who made the decision after entering the institution. Of the respondents who indicated they intended to transfer, 72% reported they decided to transfer after entering the institution while 28% intended to transfer before entering the institution.</description>
